How to Vote on Dates (and Change Your Vote Later)

Voting on a scheduling poll should take seconds. Here is how it works, how to update your answers, and how to keep your votes across devices.

The thirty-second vote

When someone shares a Herder link, you open it and see the proposed dates. Type your name, then mark each date: Yes, Maybe, or No.

“Maybe” matters — it tells the host you are flexible, which often unblocks decisions. The host sees a live consensus heatmap, not just a head count.

Changing your answers

Reopen the same link on the same device and your votes are already loaded. Adjust anything and resubmit — the host sees the update instantly.

You can change your availability any time before the host locks in the final date.

Voting from a new device

If you entered your email when you first voted, you can recover your votes on any other device. Use the “Recover your votes” link, enter your email, and follow the magic link we send — your votes and events come back without an account.

No email? No problem — you can still vote anonymously. The email is only there if you want cross-device continuity.
